Location

Where the Gulf of Triest as an organic part of the Adriatic Sea reaches at its most to the heart of Europe, lies the Slovenian Coast and Portoroz. The Slovenian Coast borders to the two neighboring countries: over the sea and on the eastern edge with Italy, on south with Croatia. In accordance with identification method applied to the big European cities, it could be said that Portoroz lies somewhere between Venice and Vienna in the vicinity of Triest.
Portoroz belongs with its sub-Mediterranean climate among the warmest areas of Slovenia. There are many sunny days. The yearly average of them amounts to 2346 hours. The precipitations are scarce and range between 1000 and 1100 mm per year. The mild winters with temperatures very rarely below zero are characteristic, as well as not too hot summers. Due to that the visitors not able to support the severe heat of the southern parts of Mediterranean in summer, are the most frequent guests.
Portoroz is part of the Municipality of Piran that lies on the foremost northwestern tip of the Istrian peninsula and covers 43 square km with 17,000 inhabitants. Along the majority of Slovenian population, there lives also an Italian minority. On the bi-lingual area together with the Slovenian language, the Italian language is used on equal grounds. The municipality is composed of the town core Piran, mundane Portoroz, the settlements Lucija, Strunjan, Secovlje and the hinterland of Slovenian Istria with the pertaining villages. The entire western and southern part of the municipality is engulfed by the sea, which with the Strunjan, Portoroz and Secovlje bays also reaches considerably inland.

the hotel is not a 5 star , even if the 5 stars hotels in Slovenia, are not the other in the eurpoean countries. Room are small , if You are not lucky to have a new one, and not very clean, staff are very rude and they don't know at all the customers satisfaction. All the wellnes center has booked, and if you don't book one week in advance ( partciculalry the wai Thai center) are fully booked, restaurant not bad but only breakfast tasted good. In my opinion not an hotel to stay and I will never come back here again.
