This is an excellent hotel. As far as location goes, you can hardly be in a more central place: the Friedrichstrasse station is literally 30 secondes away (no noise hinder, though); Reichstag, Unter den Linden and the Museuminsel are a 10-minute walk away. Rooms and beds are good - they even provide a pillow menu with six different pillows to choose from. The bathroom fan does stay on but did not bother us. It was quite warm in the room, though. There is a complimentary sauna and gym on the top floor (with good views from the terrace there). Room service is slow. Breakfast buffet is *big*, varied and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. We booked a standard room at the summer special rate of 99 euros, including breakfast - an excellent deal. We would most certainly come back here.

Superb location! You are 5 minutes walking distance from the "Museum Quarter", 10 min from the up-and-coming, always funny, Jewish district and 15 min from Brandenburg Tor. Actually, the street (Friedrichstrasse) is a highlight by itself, as it is where the main shopping malls stands and one must-do-stops favourites as "Check point Charlie" is. Great breakfast; nice, modern decor, big, clean room, flat screen TV. There is a Spanish (Tapas) Bar in the basement that opens till late. Helpful, professional (although on the non-smile kind) staff attend in reception. As the hotel has been just one year open, decoration and stuff is modern and cool, without a trace of the classic (sometimes old-fashioned) Melia likes.
