Hotel Artim - Berlin, Germany 

Good location, but poor service. No food if you have the breakfast too late. No minibar in the room. Certanly not 4 stars.

This was my first trip to Berlin and I got this hotel for 275 euro for three nights including breakfast. It was well worth that price. The hotel was booked as a 4 star hotel and I got a special rate so good for me but if I paid much more I really would have been quite upset. I wanted to stay near the Kadawe store so this really was a great location. I did hope for nicer but like I said for my price I can accept it. The outside does not look as nice as the picture that was posted on line. When I walked in the door I really thought maybe I was in the wrong place (very plain front room) For me the front desk people were wonderful and most professional. I needed to rebook my flight and get a boarding pass and it was done for no charge and happy to do so. The location would have been perfect if not for construction work going on at seven in the morning right in front. ( Most of Berlin has some construction going on) The hotel is listed as a place that gays are welcomed but truthfully there were all types and mostly nice. The room that I stayed in was a large room with a small balcony and beds that was close to the floor. My back still hurts. Bathroom was OK. Free breakfast I did once and did not use it the other times. It is ok but if you are American you may be dissapointed. All and all I would stay here again if I get a good price and in cooler weather since I did not see any sight of air coolers. Again a really perfect staff and I thank them for helping me out.
