With a friendly multilingual staff, a great team in the kitchen and a Host with much more than the usual 'hospitality' - my stay in Dannenberg for the Schutzenfest week was greatly enhanced by the standards kept in this very old establishment. In the middle of the asparagus season, the dishes on offer far outshone their descriptions in the well balanced menu. Having enjoyed the asparagus in particular, the Host himself appreciated my positive comments and prepared an enormous portion for me to bring back to the UK early on Sunday morning - long before he should even have been out of his well earned bed. I recommend this hotel!
