Mercure Hotel Dortmund City - Dortmund, Germany     

Habe in Dortmund ein langes Wochenende verbracht. Das Hotel ist in ausgezeichneter, zentraler Lage, nur 5 min von der Haltestelle zum Flughafen entfernt und direkt vor der Tür hat man viele Geschäfte. Unser Zimmer war sehr ruhig, geräumig und makellos sauber. Ich habe nicht im Hotel gefrühstückt aber hatte im Cafe unter dem Hotel ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück für einen Bruchteil der Kosten. Ich kann dieses Hotel rundherum empfehlen und ich würde hier mit Sicherheit wieder unterkommen wenn ich noch einmal in Dortmund wäre.

This is an excellent hotel in a superb location within walking distance to all the social, entertainment and shopping attractions of Dortmund which are concentrated around Kampstrasse and the surrounding streets. Depending on agility it's only 5-10 minutes walk from the main Bhf. The reception is on the 3rd floor and is reached by means of an escalator shared with a chinese restaurant and other retail outlets. The hotel is located above a shopping centre. This appeared strange initially but posed no problem at all. In fact it worked out much better as you didn't have to go through reception to get to the rooms and it felt more like an apartment complex rather than a hotel. The room was hugely spacious, fresh and modern although I did see other rooms that were smaller than ours as I walked past when they were being serviced. I think it was the fact that our room was at the end of a corridor. The bathroom was splendid and storage was ample. No tea or coffee facilites (take a travel kettle if required) and no safe, hairdryer or trouser press (not that I ever use a trouser press that is) Otherwise, all usual 3-4 star facilites were provided. Friendly staff and smooth check in and check out helped make this an excellent stay. I would stay here again without question. The location is perfect. There are so many fabulous cafes, bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep. A great hotel in a great city.
