Stayed here with elderly father and friends. Good location near to river, city centre and chocolate museum. Staff very friendly and helpful.Spotlessly clean rooms with good showers although a bath would have been nice. Good size single rooms which made a pleasant change. Addition of coffee and tea making facilities would have made this perfect. Pool looked good but ran out of time so didn't use it. Breakfast was excellent for this grade of hotel - especially if you're a fruit lover!

We stayed two nights in early May. Martina in Reception very efficient and helpful, both before our trip when I was sending emails, and during our stay. We found all the staff to be very courteous and friendly. After a long flight, we arrived at the hotel about two hours before check in. However, we only had to wait about 15 minutes and our room was ready. That was very much appreciated.
This lovely hotel is situated about 15 minutes walking distance from the CBD, or about 5 minutes in a taxi. Also within 5 minutes walk away are many pubs, eateries, shops etc.
Our room was very spacious and very clean, with good comfortable beds and pillows, ample storage space, and a safe. Lovely bathroom, good shower rose and water pressure. Good amenities. The European tilt/open windows are awesome, and we had a wonderful view of the Dom Cathedral, Rhine River and bridge from our room. There was a bit of traffic noise, however once the windows were closed, you couldn't hear a thing. Very impressed. We had no noise from other guests during the night which was also good.
Had a decent flat screen tv, however the only english speaking channel was CNN. This had nothing to do with the hotel, as we experienced this at other hotels in Germany. Even to have had sub titles would have been good...
Breakfast was 17 Euros though there was a great selection and their breakfast room was lovely, as were the girls who served us. They couldn't do enough for us, even managing to get some wheat free bread in for me in short notice. Much appreciated.
Tip - take a German/English dictionary/phrase book with you (or whatever language you speak) everywhere in Germany, as we found this to be very helpful.
Will definitely be staying here again if we are ever in Cologne.
