I missed my train to the city where I had planned to stay. I came across the Luitpold and was treated so well. The gentleman who was at the desk was sympathetic and offered me a good rate. The breakfast room is adorable and the location can't be beat. I consider this to be a nice economical hotel with a great location.

Our plans were changed so we had to look for a hotel and stumbled on this one while we walked around. It is in a good location, very close to Hauptbahnhof main train station. It is on the main pedestrian tourist walk. It was 90 Euro/night. The daytime reception person was a very nice man who spoke excellent English. However, the night-shift reception person was an old man who was very rude and unhelpful. First, when one of our local female friends showed up and wanted to come to our room, he refused to let her enter, suggesting that she was a prostitute. Then when came down at 7AM and and asked where breakfast was served, he spoke only in German and seemed irritated. Granted, we do not speak a word of German, all he had to do was hand motion "two" for second floor, or just point "up". The room was nice and quaint and clean. There is no in-room safe. The breakfast was very good. But I would not stay again because of the grumpy rude night-shift receptionist.
