Drei Loewen details: The Drei Loewen is a traditional 4-star hotel with a personal ambience in a very convenient location, 3 minutes walk from the main railway station and bus terminal, in the centre of Munich.

The pedestrian and shopping area is a few steps away, the Oktoberfest can be reached within a few minutes, Munich's Fair and International Conference Ground can be reached directly by underground line U2 in 20 minutes and Munich International Airport in 30 minutes directly by bus or train line S1 or S8.

Being a guest in Munich is always attractive, as Munich offers attractions throughout the entire year. The hotel is located just a short walk from the main train station. The international bus terminal is also located there, as is the airport shuttle. The subway and rapid rail systems are even closer.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights recently with some business colleagues. It is less than 100 metres from the Hautbahnhof subway exit so pretty convenient to get around. The rate we got was 99 euros (breakfast was an extra 12 euros) so a pretty good rate for Munich. The room was clean, especially the bathroom, and had good Wifi access. It did not face the main road and was quiet at night. The only problem that I only realised when I'd gone to bed was that the room was a smoking room - the reception should have asked if I wanted a smoking room! Breakfast facilities were quite reasonable, we also ate in the restaurant one evening and the food then was not particularly wonderful. In summary I'd stay there again. It is central and good value compared to say the City Hilton, although I prefer the latter.

We booked to stay one night in the Hotel Drei Löwen so that we could do some pre-Christmas shopping and visit the Christmas markets. We booked the hotel through an online booking agent and the price seemed very good. The location of the hotel is superb - walking distance to the shopping centre and close to the Hauptbahnhof. However, we were very disappointed in the room that we were given. It was probably the smallest double room that I have ever seen. The room looked to be newly renovated and overlooked a central courtyard so was very quiet. The bathroom at first glance seemed ok. There was a very large washbasin but it was cracked and the pop-up plug didn't work. The water pressure was terrible and there was a used elastoplast stuck to the wall above the bath. The room also hadn't been cleaned very well as there was silver foil next on the floor next to the bin. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were too high for both my husband and myself. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. We've had much better breakfasts in cheaper hotels in Germany. We told the receptionist about the problems with the room but they weren't interested and didn't even note them down. My husband speaks fluent German so there was no excuse for the receptionist not to understand him. We've stayed in several hotels in and around Munich and this was the worst. We would not stay here again although we would stay in the same area.
