Hotel Trapp - Rudesheim am Rhein, Germany 

I wonder if the other review for Hotel Trapp is the same one we stayed at. We have nothing but praise for Hotel Trapp. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the rooms were excellent and the staff were very helpfull and friendly. The breakfasts were very good, and the restaurant was large and we had no problems with being accomadated for breakfast. The location of the hotel was next to the pedestrian centre of Rudesheim, but just far away enough to avoid the late music and revellers. All in all, an excelent hotel which I would highly recommend.

Our room was not clean, we even found womens makeup on the floor that was from a previous guest. Breakfast was OK but the restaurant is so small that sometimes they couldn't accomodate so you are left to wait until someone else leaves so you can have their table. We stayed in spring so the weather was quite warm, the hotel has NO air conditioning or fans so we had to sleep with the windows open and it was very loud because it is right on the street it actually sounded like we were trying to sleep in the middle of an aeroplane runway it was that loud. For 4 days we had no sleep whatsoever. Even our friend who was staying on the other side said his room was loud although not as loud as ours. I left the do not disturb sign on the door one time as I left passports and money in our hotel room and did not want housekeeping or anyone in the room just in case. When I came back from being out the do not disturb sign was off the door and housekeeping had been in our room. Was really disappointed. Could not put things in the safe because you have to pay money to use the safe every time you open and close it. Most other hotels you stay at the safes are for free. Every time you go downstairs to try and talk to someone at reception there is never anyone there. For how much it cost and the stay we had I was very disappointed.
