Holiday Inn Stuttgart - Stuttgart, Germany     

Spent over a week in this hotel very recently. Happy to report the room was very comfortable - good bed and pillows, very clean and had air conditioning - a must as it was very warm and humid during my time in Stuttgart. Plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower . The staff all spoke very good English and were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was good and service fast and efficient. Only complaint I had was the price of the breakfast which at 17 euros I found that to be too much, but this could be on par with other hotels in the area. Hotel is equipped with a lounge next to the restaurant but we enjoyed the biere garten at the back of the hotel in the evenings to take advantage of the nice weather. With the train station right in front of the hotel it was very convenient for getting into downtown Stuttgart quickly with trains running every 20 minutes. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to the area.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Stuttgart four times now, always on our way to or from the Alps. We now plan on stopping there to break up the long drive, as we have always enjoyed a relaxing and pleasant stay. The hotel has always been clean, the service friendly and helpful, and the food good quality and well-prepared. The first time, we arrived quite late, after the restaurant had closed, but the staff offered to prepare a cold dinner that was brought to our room. It was a small feast, full of various meats, cheeses, cured fish, and fruit. The breakfast buffet is excellent, even by German standards, and can be free, depending on your room rate. The restaurant is not huge or noteworthy for its decor, but the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, the staff prompt and friendly, and the food well-prepared and presented. The hotel is quite a distance from the center of Stuttgart, so I would not recommend this to anyone visiting without a car. The hotel is situated in an area of office buildings, so it's very quiet at night but not very interesting for walking. For us, the attraction is the prospect of a good night's rest, a nice dinner, and a great breakfast to head down the road on.
