Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Porto's business district, just off avenue republica. Rooms are a little tired and moth eaten but nice. Breakfast is a little stuffy but a good selection. Be warned, do not leave money in your room as we had ?50 taken out of my wallet when I stayed. It was only when we went to the bureau du change at Sao Bento station that we realised money had been swiped! We only stayed there one night and moved onto the Pestana Porto which I would recommend over this hotel for location and quality.

Beautiful hotel, short walk from the main shopping area. Really oppulently decorated with beautiful fireplaces, stained glass and the sort of service you would expect from somewhere like this. Breakfast is a huge buffet and absolutely delicious - something for everyone, but dinner and room service didn't seem to change much. The room service was prompt and efficient and if it's pouring outside (like when I was there!) the hotel provide complimentary umbrellas. Great value for money and just lovely.
