Mi partner and I stayed here last year in February, for a Valentine break. The room was spotlessly clean, service excellent and the food was outstanding. The hotel is one of the nicest 4 star hotels I have stayed. We loved the hotel so much, we are going back this year at Valentines again and have booked our wedding there in September. I have also driven from Uddingston twice, just to have lunch and always been very impressed. I do not understand the bad comments, as I find the hotel to be outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our expectations weren't particularly high before this booking at the Fairfield - simply what seemed like a good value deal through LateRooms and a chance to see Ayr. We had only passed through Ayr before. When we arrived, the weather was wild, windy and wet. The hotel, however, was warm and and every member of staff was friendly and professional. Presumably because the place was quiet (February, after all), we were given a free upgrade and the room was excellent - spacious and well-equipped. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening and couldn't fault the meal. Breakfasts were great as well. Although Sunday morning was busy (most guests turning up at about the same time), staff remained composed and friendly and although we had slightly longer to wait than had been the case on Saturday, we weren't made to feel ignored at all. Unusually for me, I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this hotel. Having received a decent rate for the room, we would have put up with a fair number of faults had they happened. As it was, the stay here really was absolutely first class and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
