The Norbreck Castle Hotel - Blackpool, United Kingdom 3 star hotel

Address: Queens Promenade, Blackpool, FY2 9AA
The Norbreck Castle Hotel details:  Overlooking the seafront on the North Shore, away from the noise of the town centre, this acclaimed hotel offers a leisure club, daily live entertainment and children’s activities.

A national finalist at the Hotel Club Awards 2007, The Norbreck Castle Hotel provides plenty of entertainment for children and adults alike. The exclusive 36-seater hotel cinema plays a number of children’s films and cartoons. The hotel also has a leisure club, with free access to an 18-metre indoor heated swimming pool, children’s splash pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi whirlpool. There are also numerous beauty treatments and a fully equipped gymnasium (at an additional cost).

Benefiting from a prominent position on Blackpool's quieter North Shore, the hotel enjoys panoramic sea views, yet is only a short tram ride away from the bustling centre of Blackpool with its many attractions including the tower, piers and Pleasure Beach.

There is a live entertainment show staged every evening at the hotel. During the school holidays there is also a children's entertainment programme, to complement an amusement arcade that remains open all year round.

The wide range of treatments available at the leisure club includes facials, massages, tanning, manicures and pedicures. The leisure club is open every day, from 07:00 until 22:00. Please note that children are not permitted to use the leisure club before 08:00, nor between 12:00 and 14:00.

Disabled facilities include designated parking spaces close to front entrance ramp. The hotel entrance has both revolving doors and side opening doors – there is a bell which can be rung if assistance is required. The hotel has 20 purpose-built rooms with full wheelchair access (10 on the ground floor, 10 on the 1st floor). All restaurants and bars are accessible – the carvery can be served at table and there is a bar table service. The leisure club is fully accessible, with both a hoist and disabled changing facilities provided. Constant supervision is available in the gym, though there is none by the pool.

I was worried when I read some of the previous reviews on this hotel and was expecting faulty towers. I had booked for new year with my mum and little boy, I knew it wasnt a five star hotel but was definetely expecting the worse after some of the comments I had read. Well all I can say is that myself my mum and little boy had a fabuous time and wouldnt hesitate to book this hotel again. It is a huge hotel however this did not stop the staff going out of their way to help in anyway they could, they were both courteous and friendly. The New year festivities were superb the dining room was decorated beautifully and I thought the food was superb considering they were catering for so many. Apart from one group I thought the entertainment was fantastic especially the in house team who were excellent. The atmosphere on New years eve was superb as again was the food, service and entertainment overall a wonderful night. We were on a table with five other guests who also contributed to a wonderful break. The hotel has a superb swimming pool and beauty facilities and an enjoyable gymnasium. Overall I thought it was a wonderful place granted a little bit tired in places but this is to be expected due to the sheer size and age of the place. I would not hesitate to return here and would gladly recommend the place to friends. So please do not believe all of the negative things that has been written and give it a go for yourself.
