The moment we open a door of our room in a hotel can be the starting point of a hell's trip or the opening of the heaven's door. At Vancouver Studios that exact moment will stay in our memories forever. Great, great surprise! The room was on the fisrt floor (I asked for a room on a lower floor, after reading some reviews here). Very clean, with a big window, a table with two chairs, a functional kitchen, with new equipments like a silver stylish microwave, a sink, stove, a short but quite large fridge working very well, useful pots and knives, forks, spoons, glasses, cups, etc. The bathroom was bright and clean, with a modern new sink and a perfect shower with hot pressure water. Also, we had Lcd tv, DVD (good selection of films at the reception - we only had time to watch "Notting Hill"...inspiring) cable with an excellent variety of channels and good speed free Internet access. They offer tea, coffee, milk, chocolate sachets and cookies restoring it everyday, so you can prepare it at anytime. The staff is wonderful, very, very friendly, we just felt at home with them. One of our biggest concerns, the distance from the hotel to the subway, was finished right on the arrival. Bayswater Tube Station is ridiculously close, really a short walk (and this staion has the circle line wich we used a lot). Just a little more steps towards Hyde Park and you will find another station, Queensway (with central line) wich increases the possibilities of going and coming with less transfers. The surrounding is calm, there are good pubs around, drugstores, Tescos, a nice Shopping Center (Whiteleys) right at the corner with a nice Marks and Spencer market, Gap, Zara, HMV, good restaurants, etc. And Notting Hill is just a walk from there. Resuming, if you want an excellent place to stay in London, don't think twice, Vancouver Studios is GREAT! Whenever we go to London, and we will cause we loved the city, our place to saty will be Vancouver Studios. Tip: I'm very grateful for those who told me to ask for a lower floor, cause there is no lift, so that is the hint #1. If you are a couple, try the room we had, # 15, very nice room. Soon I will post some photos.

The 3 of us (husband, self and 8-year-old son) came to the Vancouver Studios while my husband completed the business portion of a short trip to England. This place was very convenient for all of our needs, the underground station was around the corner, lots of bustling small shops, pubs and restaurants, and of course Kensington Gardens. The place itself was on a fairly quiet street and had just what we needed to make things comfortable: the kitchen was clean and usable (we shopped a little and ate breakfast each morning before setting out), the laundry facilities were nice to have, the bed was good and the linens were clean, and the bathroom was small but tidy (my only real complaint about the room is the tiny shower, that and the sisal flooring could use a little sprucing up). The staff was very nice. We would stay again!
