Fertel Etoile - Paris, France 

We found the hotel extremely central to all amenities. Anything from the Eiffel Tower, to the Notre Dame Cathedral were all within walking distance - and the Arche de Triomphe and Champs yleese are right on your doorstep! - although if you're not keen on walking, the Metro was about a 30 second walk! We found our room on the second floor basic but clean - we had nothing to complain about. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is no bar in the hotel, and no tea/coffee making facilities, but right outside the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, and there's even a coffee shop right opposite where you can buy takeaway coffees if you want to have one in your room. All in all, We could not fault this small hotel, or its location. I will be sure to book the same hotel on my next trip to Paris!

Just arrived back after a 3 night stay at this hotel where we stayed for our anniversary, in room 702 top floor (7th) we were hoping to stay in room 602 as this has a balcony but room was being refurbished. No problems with room - very large, clean and most of the time quiet, apart from the odd person banging doors at 4am! Note: Worth booking transfer from airport to hotel through your agency. We used the Paris Shuttle which was only 32euros per person return...very good value, took over an hour to reach hotel through 5pm traffic, so cannot imagine how much a taxi would have cost! Safes are also available adjacent to reception area - no charge - just ask. Breakfast fine and can be served in your room at no extra charge but this will only consist of tea, juice, bread, butter and jam, whereas if you go down to breakfast you can choose, cheese, crackers, cereal and small cakes etc. Location great as per previous reviews - come out of hotel turn left up street where the wonderful bakery is also the Metro Argentine. Beware of the Scam. Someone will approach you saying have you lost your wedding ring, (which you haven't) then proceed to give you the ring and walk away, they then walk back asking for money for coffee and cigarettes! - don't take the ring in the first place! Shop around for food as prices vary - set menus from 19euros - 36euros for starter or dessert with a main course. Only disappointment holiday not long enough, 5 nights would have been better. We will definitely return to Paris in the future and would stay at this hotel again.
