We stayed at the Kriemhild for three nights last Spring and had a wonderful experience there. In addition to being a first rate hotel (great accomodations, friendly English-speaking staff, excellent breakfast), it is very conveniently located to the Nymphenberg Palace, and to the tramline to take you to the old town (tickets can be purchased at the hotel). There are a number of stores and restaurants within walking distance, and, two blocks away is the Hirschgarten, a large beer garden adjoining the park. This was a great place to go in the evening for food and drink and to just relax after a day of sightseeing. The Kriemhild will always be our home away from home when we go to Munich.

We stayed four nights at this hotel in late May, 2008. We found the experience to be quite nice. On this trip, we stayed in a total of six hotels/B&Bs in Germany and Amsterdam; the Kriemheld was very much nicer than most of the others. The room and bathroom were the largest of all the places we stayed. The furnishings were almost new. The breakfast was better than most. The only reason we rated this hotel as a four rather than a five was the lack of an elevator. We are senior citizens and hauling large suitcases up two flights was tough. However, we experienced a similar situation at all the other places we stayed. The owner of the Kriemheld said they were contemplating installing an elevator so check on this if it's important to you. I don't know if the hotel is air conditioned, so check on this also if you are visiting during the hot season. The hotel provides wi-fi for your laptop. I did not bring mine so the owner let me use his desktop to check emails. You need to undertand that this hotel is in a residential area. This is good if you like quiet surroundings. If you like to be right in the middle of the action, stay somewhere closer in. The tram stop is about 150 yards from the hotel and two different tram routes are available at that stop. This was not a problem for us. I recommend the three-day partner pass for multiple travellers. The hotel owner may have passes available. The staff of the hotel was very nice and helpful to us. W were very pleased. Our rate was 106 Euros per night; we consider this hotel to be good value, especially when compared to the other places we stayed on this trip.
