We booked this hotel for the very reasonable price of ?69 per night ( look around for special offers.) You will be hard pressed to find even a one star hotel for this price anywhere else as it's an expensive city. If you are expecting four star luxury then this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a spotlessly clean, good value and pretty comfortable place to stay then stay here. Staff were courteous and welcoming during our stay. The rooms are very clean but could do with a lick of paint and are rather compact and bijou. Bathrooms are very modern and we did not have any problems. The breakfasts are fine and we have eaten far worse in Europe! The hotel is a fifteen to twenty minute walk from the Spanish Steps and is not in a touristy area. If you are not very mobile or hate walking then you will struggle, although there is an express local bus which runs into town from near the hotel. Although a way from the centre, this means there are some nice local restaurants around where you can eat real Italian food for great prices without a picture menu in sight. A word of warning - taxis from the Termini train station and where the airport buses stop charge thirty Euros as a flat fee, so you will be paying 45 Euros (about ?34) for a five minute ride. If they can rip you off, they will. If you haven't much luggage the hotel is a fifteen minute walk away (bring a map or buy one at station for one euro) or there are loads of buses that travel the mile or so to the hotel. Rome is a gorgeous city, enjoy. When we go back we will certainly consider staying again at this hotel.

We ended up at this hotel after an online booking agency left us in the lurch by booking us into a place that was already full. I was initially skeptical as the trip advisor reviews were very mixed, but we found it perfectly adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful (maybe we had different staff to what other reviewers complained about?), and the breakfast was reasonable. The rooms were a bit tired decor-wise, and there is a construction site next door but we didn't hear a peep from them during our stay (it was over the holiday period). We were given the junior suite on the top floor which was very large, so can't really comment on the standard rooms. Not that close to metro stations; about 15 minute walk to the main train station.
