Hotel Verona House  - Prague, Czech Republic 3 star hotel

Address: Míšeňská 8, Prague, 3680
Hotel Verona House  details:  Boasting a privileged spot in the historic hub and just a few steps from Charles Bridge, this recently renovated property presents bright and comfortable accommodation.

Featuring 13 double rooms and 1 apartment, the overriding ethos is attention to detail and the promotion of a cosy and intimate ambience.

The hotel is located in Prague’s Malá Strana or Lesser Town district, the heart of the Czech capital’s Old Town. Malá Strana is one of the most picturesque parts of Prague, an enclave of small exclusive shops, galleries and restaurants, just a few steps from Charles Bridge and minutes from Prague Castle. Verona House is an excellent base from which to explore all of Prague’s many attractions.

The hotel’s building itself was originally built between 1707 and 1726 in the high baroque style. The hotel was completely, but sensitively, reconstructed in the spring of 2005. Many of the building’s many beautiful original features were preserved. The hotel now offers comfortable accommodation with modern comforts, conveniences and luxuries in an original historic building.

We stayed here in mid-March and found it to be a great value. It's an easy walk to most sites in Prague and close to a central train/trolley for other areas. The rooms were basic, but very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and it was a great place to have a glass of wine in the afternoon/evening before going out. Besides great beer, we found some very drinkable red wine, as well as white, which was unexpected and at a very reasonable price. It is a walk-up, so if you don't do well on stairs, beware, but otherwise I highly recommend it.

Stayed here in April for our honeymoon; the location is perfect for Prague, literally around the corner from the Charles Bridge so access to the castle or old town is within minutes walk. The castle side of town is quieter with several excellent bars and restaurants, whilst the Old City side is livelier. We asked for a loft room as per the reviews below, and whilst we didn't get one with a view across the city we did have a room with a personal balcony and view into the hotel courtyard. The room was spacious, staff pleasant and helpful and the wine bar makes for a relaxing nightcap after eating out. All in all we were delighted with our time at the hotel and have recommended it to several friends.
