This is a lovely hotel, cannot see how any hotel can be better situated just down from Charles Bridge, all staff friendly and breakfast was fine.
a couple of negatives otherwise had a great stay in a wonderful city
the hotel can get a bit noisy, we had a room at the front and was both woken during the night from noise outside (though they do supply ear plugs)
the price of beer, when we stayed last year all hotel guests enjoyed a 50% discount, therefore a beer was 25kr, this year they charged 79kr as there was no discount to residents, the average price paid elsewhere was 29 - 35kr

Arrived to find what looked like a bomb site as we walked through the main door from the street. There were major renovations happening in the hotel which unfortunately weren't mentioned at the time of booking. There was no restaurant, bar, club or general seating facilities that you would like to have in your accommodation. We went down for breakfast the first morning to find plastic sheeting over the doors to stop the dust from coming in while we were eating, unfortunately this didn't stop the sound of the pneumatic drills and power tools. The 2nd and 3rd morning the breakfast room was made up in one of the bedrooms!
This all sounds awful but luckily we reached our room - eventually to be pleasantly surprised. The facilities in the room were as stated and the staff were always pleasant and helpful. We were woken by the drills etc at about 7.00 am each morning but this just made us get up to enjoy a few lovely days in Prague. W would say that the renovation work downstairs would take a couple more months to finish so "unlucky" to all the stag parties who were expecting a pole-dancing club on site!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Prague but would just like to have been warned about the work that was being done - we don't want it to sound like the hotel was a bad place to stay because I am sure it will be fantastic when it is completed and the location is perfect!!
Would have rated it a lot higher if we hadn't have walked into building site!
