Stayed 3 nights for a friend's wedding - the entire hotel was full with the wedding party. Hotel arranged an airport transfer for 30 Euros which I would recommend, it was very convenient. The property is in Smichov which is not too touristy, quite a few students around, some good 'local' cafes and shops. It is south of the Mala Strana area and is easy to get to the centre by tram numbers 9 or 12 (10 mins). This is not really a hotel, but more like serviced apartments, with a small reception area, and the rooms surrounding a courtyard. The staff in reception were very helpful with arranging taxis, storing luggage, giving advice etc. The property as a whole, and our room, was brand new, however it was decorated in a very spartan style, something like a Travelodge or Ibis hotel. The decor was not to my taste, however it was clean and tidy. There was no airconditioning, and the room was quite hot. There were three opening windows and a small balcony. At night the courtyard was like an echo chamber and was sometimes quite loud. The small kitchen area had a sink and fridge, but no cooking facilities. The fridge was stocked with some breakfast items (milk, juice, yogurt, spreads), and there were coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast was delivered to the room each morning - it was just a bread basket and pastries but was OK. The bathroom (shower only) was fine, no complaints, everything worked. If you wish to go self-catering, there is a huge Tesco round the corner. The 'Austria' restaurant underneath the apartments was nice, we ate there one night and were pleasantly surprised. They coped well with our chaotic group of 30 or so people ! There were no real problems with the place, however lack of air-con and noisy courtyard meant we were not always comfortable. Also, there is really no need for the dated furniture and paint scheme in the rooms. I would not stay next time I am in Prague as I would like to try something a bit more interesting, however it is not a bad place.
