Beautiful building in a lovely location beneath Prague Castle. Ten minutes to Charles Bridge, but there is plenty to explore on this side of the river. Rooms were nice and period furniture was lovely. Double room had two single beds pushed together, which seems the norm in most hotels. Tea and coffee facilities and a well stocked reasonably priced mini bar. Breakfast offered a wide range and the staff were all very nice, and all spoke English well. Our only complaint was that with our room the bathroom was not en-suite but just outside our door which meant locking and unlocking doors, which i'm sure disturbed the guest in the next room. Also some lights were out on the open stairway making it difficult to find keyholes in the dark. As always Prague is beautiful, but prices along the main routes far more expensive than side streets which still offer excellent value. Some good bars and restaraunts around the hotel. We will go back to the Waldstein - but will make sure we have a room with a bathroom!

Having previously stayed in romantish hotels in europe, when I saw the Waldstein picture on the internet I immediately felt it looked like a Romantish hotel. I understand it did not meet ALL th requirements of being called a romantish hotel; but, after arriving and seeing the hotel in person and the accomidations, I still felt it is of the Romantish Hotel, caliber and would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like they are staying in a hotel that takes them back to another time yet gives them a feeling of modern satisfaction. The next time I am in Prage, I was there in 1983, I hope it will not be another 25 years like this time, you can be sure I will try to stay at the Waldstien!!! John W. Gorman Vienna Virginia, USA
