I was booked into this hotel from an other hotel, because there a pipe broke and put my room under water. I knew the hotel from staying there in Dec. 2007 and didn't had it in good memory because being very noicy. Now, I had a room on the top floor which is OK, because the noice from tourists walking on Karlsbridge is maybe less than on the lower floors. There was no problem with the room and breakfast. I arrived late, the receptionist kindly got me a parking and parked the car while I was was out for dinner. But, at 7:30 a.m. I got a call from the receptionist to immediately bring her the parking card. Her voice was as sweet as a Gulag-guard would be on a saturday morning waking up everybody! I decided to stomach her only after breakfast. After paying up and getting to the car, I realized that the concierge, parking my car the nicht before had forgotten to put out the headlights. No problem sofar, this could have happend to mee too. But now: I asked the gulag voiced lady-concierge if she could help me to find somebody with a startercable to jump start my car. No, she wouldn't ask anybody - I don't speak czech, so I needed her help. I aske if she would call on my mobile telefon the automobil club: negative, absolutely no cooperation, no help! What she did, is to send me over to the tourist office (which actually is opposit), saying that they would take care! Well they did, the called the automobil club who came 50 min later, jump started my car for a ? 35 fee (the room by the way was ? 65!). Never mind that in the meanwhile I had found a gentlemen with a starter cable willing to help me - believe it or not, it was the cook of the hotel restaurant!! All I can say is, the gulagvoiced lady concierge hasn't yet understood who pays her salary. Me and my friends we go a lot to Prag, always looking for a nice budget hotel in convenient location, but certainly we will noz go there anymore!

Check in / front desk
6.0
We had a huge room--No 14 during out stay. This room was very very spacious and comfortable for the 3 of us. It is also good that its on the 2nd floor, which means we do not have to climb the stairs with our heavy luggages. Breakfast had a good mix of cold and warm food, and we could even order omelette or fried eggs--Free of Charge!!! The omelette was very delicious, although we started to get sick of it after eating it for 3 days. The best part of breakfast----Champagne--we were totally plesantly surprised when we saw it on the breakfast table.
Location is great, just at the start of the Charles bridge, at the Mala Strana side. Very convenient for walking to the Old town.
Only downside: Although helpful in giving directions, the hotel staff still look qute glum at times---they should smile more often and learn to be more service-oriented !
Overall--I would recommend this hotel for its location.
