Radisson Sas Grand Hotel Sofia - Sofia, Bulgaria 

We were two couples travelling to Sofia on a mixed business and pleasure week end. We booked Business Class Rooms which included as well beakfast as shuttle service to and from the airport. The success started at the airport where a polite front desk boy waited for us taking us to the hotel. The hotel was clean and well managed, the staff very friendly and helpful and everyone talked a perfect English. The rooms were of a high standard. When we arrived there had been a misunderstanding as they had only made my room for one person, but in some few moments the floor servant transformed the room for two persons, bringing, blankets, pillow, towels, soaps, bathrobe etc witout hesitation. The hotel is in the city centre just 10 minutes walk from the central fountain outside the presidents palace. The front desk staff allways looked for us, and if they were not to busy they offered to drive us downtown or to outside restaurants. I had taken out from www a list of recommended restaurants and the chose the best ones and made all reservations. The hotel is for certain one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed on. I would also recommend readers to plan a trip to Sofia, it is a hidden pearl. Not the very architectual pearl as other famous cities, but a nice, calm, friendly city with all the offers that you expect from a pleasure stay. The prices for shopping is not low, but there is a variety of shops in the central area. The restaurants have a very high standard with very low prices, we were four people having a full 4 course dinner with a lot of wine and we did not pay more than EURO 200 for all !

This is a beautiful, centrally located hotel. It has a great atmosphere and is surrounded by historic buildings. The rooms are big, clean and tastefully decorated. There is a special suite for business services complete with free buffet. The staff are friendly and efficient, and bend over backwards to help you. Sophia is well worth visiting, and has an old world charm.
