I had read the reviews in TripAdvisor, and was not disappointed with our 3 night stay at the Medina Executive.
We arrived at 1am after a flight from Europe, and found the front desk manned and the staff charming.
The apartment had everything that you could need for a stay, plus a small balcony overlooking the city. The hotel had the gym and pool.
The lifts operate using your room card, and this presented a few problems as the cards tend to get reused over long periods of time, and hence one could have difficulties getting lifts to function. I appreciate that this is a security measure, but it did make traveling by list a bit problematic.
The front desk was very helpful in telling us how to use the train system (we needed it to visit friends in Perth) and answer other tourist questions.
Overall a nice apartment with great staff

As promised and reviewed before, the location is great, right on the eastern end of Hay St Mall and 2 minutes walk to the train station.
We were upgraded to a 2-bedroom, which gave us plenty of space. Bathrooms were well organised, although there was a small crack in one of the sinks. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were all available within the suite.
Room was clean and linen good. This was similar to my other experience in Medina Adelaide.
Probably the only glitch during my stay was the car rental arranged by the hotel. I needed a rental for 2 days and they quoted A$100, this was supposed to be a preferential rate by the hotel with Avis and so I took it. It wasn't till I got my credit card bill that I discovered that the quoted rate was per day and not for 2 days, which effectively doubled the charge. I could have gotten a better rate if I had called Avis directly.
I suppose it was partly my fault for not clarifying but also the hotel should also be more upfront when providing third-party services recommended by themselves.
