Property very tired, and Christian who was in charge most of the time could acquire more people skills. Breakfast is very regimented. Location is pretty good and not too far to walk to the old city. Elfie (not sure of spelling) is very outgoing and friendly but son Christian too serious and very stern. My husband and I may stay there again because of location (a little rural) but probably wouldn't. Property needs some major maintenance.

Gastehaus Eva-Maria is a great place to stay in Salzburg. There are only 7 rooms so it really feels like a bed & breakfast. The rooms are good size and the bathrooms are terrific. The hostess (Elfie, I think) is great -- very, very friendly! She gave us good directions for walking into the heart of Salzburg (which took less than 10 minutes and was a very scenic walk!). You may want to take a taxi to the Gastehaus the first time (unless you have a car of course) as it is a little hard to find at first. The breakfast was great! The only downside is that it is located close to the road, so if you are extremely sensitive to car noise, you might want to bring earplugs or ask for a room on the back (although you miss out on a great view of the mountains!!)
