Location

Capoliveri is the last municipality of the Island, born in the 1906 when has been separated from the Porto Azzurro, once called Porto Longone.
The village itself is one of the most antique of our territory and probably has Roman origins; Caput Liberum, the old name of the village, means the place where all the failures where kept and were allowed to move inside its walls; originally in fact Capoliveri was a XII century castle built by Pisa.
Capoliveri boasts several historic constructions such as Pieve di San Michele, one of the first church built on the island dated back to the XII century; the Santuario della
Madonna delle Grazie built in the XVI century and Forte Focardo, defensive bulwark built by the Spanish back in the 1678 and overlooking the Mola Bay.

The historic centre is really typical with small streets and squares. During the summer evenings is lived up by small handcrafts shops, wine shops, restaurants, traditional nightclubs but also by evening concerts organised n the main square.

It also worth to mention a couple of town festivals taking place during the year such as the ‘Festa del Cavatore’ , in May, dedicated to the "uomini della vena", men in change for extracting minerals from the mines of Calamita e del Ginepro.
At the end of September beginning of October the ‘Festa dell’Uva’, (celebration of grapes) where the 4 districts of the village (Baluardo, Fortezza, Fosso, Torre) they challenge each other to win the Bacco’s statue, symbol of the fun and good life. .

This studio consists of a living room with a double bed and an extra bed. In addition to the listed amenities the studio has a bathroom with shower but without bidet and a terrace equipped with table, chairs and awning.

The village disposes of a restaurant/pizzeria open either for lunch and dinner.
From the 27th of May to the half of September, the restaurant Conte Domingo will be also open (only during the evening).
