Our room was tiny with one window above head height that had frosted glass in it, so we never saw daylight at all. The space between the side of the bed and the bathroom door was about 9 inches The room was shabby and outdated, maybe we got a bad room, it does not sound like the same hotel as in the other reviews, we should have asked for a room change but we thought the hotel was full as it was horse fair week. The only good things I can say are that the linen was clean and the hotel staff were friendly.

Hotel Avila provided a very friendly and helpful staff, and small but spotless and charming room facing out onto the street with geraniums blooming on the terrace across the way. Both the staff who spoke English and those who did not were gracious and helpful, even with our less than perfect Spanish. We asked a million questions and always got great answers to make our stay in Jerez more enjoyable, including tips on where to see Flamenco, excellent nearby restaurants to meet our budget, and shops.
