The history of the hotel dates back to more than hundred years.The idea of building the 3-star Hotel Erzsebet in the heart of the city came up in 1867 at first- when new multi-storied palaces and boulevards began to be built in the place of small-old houses and narrow overcrowded streets.Hotel Erzsebet was opened in 1873- the year when Budapest- Hungaryss capital was born by the union of three small villages- Pest-Buda and Obuda -Old Buda-. The small hotel was named with her permission after Sissi- Queen Elizabeth -Erzsebet- the wife of Emperor Francis Joseph- ruling the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy at that time.

"The Hotel Erzsebet was not far from the Erzsebet bridge over the Danube, and a short walk to the metro station. Budapest metro makes it easy to get around, so the Erzsebet's location was quite convenient. Buffet breakfast had plenty of variety, but the food was a bit underwhelming for my palate.
