The lady who greeted us when we arrived was wonderful. She was very informative and knowledgeable. At first I was somewhat questioning her motives for being so helpful but everything was exactly correct. It was like having a travel agent or tour guide at your hotel to help you plan your stay and when you came back in she wanted to know how your day was. There is also a wonderful restaurant right next store. The hotel is a little ways out from the older part of the city but the bus system in Salzburg is excellent. They were even concerned about the morning we were leaving and that it was before breakfast would be ready and they were trying to figure out how we might get something to eat before we left.

Nice hotel. 15 min walk to pedestrian zone. 20 min to old town. Bus stop nearby. Ask for room off of the street. Street noise a problem. Staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast was good. Some confusion finding the place. Most of it was my fault. Directions on site could have more detail.

Room was clean, location is good- 5-10 min from the center, good breakfast, the hotel has its own parking. Lady from reception give us all informations about Salzburg, and what to visit there, she also give us a map. I enjoy staying here, and probably next time i will choose the same hotel.

I strongly recommend Drei Kreuz as it is a well located "value" of a hotel with a great breakfast. It is extremely close to the AltStadt (touristy area of Salzburg), rooms were impeccably clean, no smoke smell (hard to find in this value range in Europe) and all was perfect with our stay. Not located on a beautiful street, but so close to everything that it is a perfect value.

Very spacious rooms, but no A/C (not really a problem in Salzburg). A little far from center of town (15 mins walk) but otherwise very nice.

We really enjoyed Hotel Drei Kreuz - the employees were very friendly and helpful! The breakfasts were great - lots of choices. And the location was excellent - a short walk to the center of town. We would definitely stay there again. The people we met at breakfast were also friendly and interesting.

This hotel was ideal for us: on our way we needed a stop what we wanted to combine with a one-night sightseeing in Salzburg. This hotel was close enough to all city attractions, was good enough to have a relax on our journey and it was well worth the price we paid.

This hotel was spectacularly great value. We were made to feel like honoured guests in a private home - everything we needed or wanted was provided. Continental buffet breakfast was fantastic value - a huge choice of cold meats, fruits, cereals, breads, pastries. The service was always friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the centre of town, and around the corner from a bus stop. We loved our stay and would return again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I have made it a tradition to go to Austria during the Advent period to take part in the wonderful Austrian Christmas preparations (Christkindlmarkt etc.). This was our first visit to Salzburg, and we were very pleased indeed. Salzburg is a wonderful city in romantic alpine surroundings. We stayed in a regular double room which was perfectly ok. Drei Kreuz is a 'no-nonsense' hotel for people who need a nice place to sleep and have breakfast within easy walking distance of the 'tourist places' in the city centre (about 10-20 minutes' walk, depending on what part of the centre you're heading for). The hotel is excellently located in relation to buses to and from the airport - regular city buses (electric!) with cheap tickets and the ride to the airport takes 40-45 minutes. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful - the hotel appears to be a family operation. There's a nice restaurant next door and several other restaurants close by. The street where the hotel is located is perhaps not the nicest of streets (a big parking lot and a car showroom on the other side), but you just go round the corner and after a few minutes, you're in the bright lights of the city. An extra Salzburg bonus: Bavarian Berchtesgaden - a very nice little mountain town with a dramatic alpine scenery surrounding it - is only 45 minutes away by regular bus from the Salzburg city centre. Well worth a visit (Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest' is closed during winter however).

the night shift lady was very welcoming n helpful but obviously not the man on the morning shift. convenience location, quiet surrounding, bus direct fm airport to hotel, a bus stop round the corner access to town centre but we prefer a 10-15 mins walk to there. no curfew but u can open the front door with yr room key. breakfast not many choice. the next door Bella Vita restaurant, highly recommended. room was spacious, cleaned everyday, just too stuffy due to center heating. the sound of music tour was ok only if u r really a fan of SOM.

Breakfast buffet was very good. Unlike some guests who received a larger room than expected, we reserved a quad room and received a double room with two extra beds put in -- there was very little space. Bathroom was oddly lit/dim. Our room was nonsmoking, but the smoke smell was so pervasive in the hotel that our room smelled of smoke anyway. Pillows were inadequate.

Hotel Drei Kreuz is located close to the bus stop and also the centre of town. Since it's run by a family, the personal touch is there, right from being welcomed by a member of the family to being served a splendid breakfast. We would highly recommend it to anyone who plans a stay at Salzburg.

For the price, in the busy month of August, Hotel Drei Kreuz exceeded our expectations. My wife and I were traveling with our 18 year-old daughter. We had a delightful stay in Salzburg and would highly recommend this hotel to those looking for the affordable.

Stayed at the Drei Kreuz at the beginning and end of a tour of Austria. Very welcoming staff- booked tours and taxis for us and full of information. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. The second stay was very hot, so the room was a little stuffy, but apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced hotel not too far from the centre of town.

Really a good accomodation. We booked a room for four persons, as we travel with two children and were hosted (same price) in alittle, simple, nice and clean suite with a big room with a double and a single bed and another room with a single bed. The bathroom was clean with well dimensioned shower. Family owned hotel, people at the desk and breakfast room was really kind and we received a lot of suggestions. We've bought the Salzburg pass that gave us the access to museums, castles and the public transports, so that even if the city centre is at about 15 minutes by foot we always took one of the frequent autobus that you can reach near the hotel. The breakfast buffet was really appreciated from all of us.

We stayed in 2 triple rooms, the rooms were clean and spacious. The price was reasonable as was the breakfast. The service was great and very friendly and we had no trouble finding our way around from this hotel even though it is not in the thick of things. Easy to get to by bus from airport. Fine to walk to the centre. Very nice pub close by: Die Weiss. The hotel itself is a bit old but in decent conditions. The room was spacious and basic. The hairdryer provided did not work but a small one was provided on request. OK breakfast: nothing special but filling. Not a lot of sweet to chose, 90% savoury. Kettle available in the room but tea or coffee to be purchased from reception... not so welcoming. All in all OK staying: basic but working fine, no complaints.

We stayed 1 night in the hotel, and the rooms were larger and more comfortable than I had expected. The suite was well laid out, and we had a very comfortable rest in the hotel. The breakfast is very well laid out, with coffee, tea, cheeses, breads, various cereals, milk, and assorted meats. A strong recommendation for this hotel! The location is along a major thoroughfare, and the hotel is not difficult to find at all. The mountains in the background provide an engaging view. We enjoyed our stay, and wished we had stayed longer!

We stayed 3 nights in Salzburg at the Drei Kreuz Hotel. The breakfast was very good each morning. The hotel is an easy walk to the bridges and over the river to the historic part of town. A good location in a quiet area. We always look for small hotels when we travel. The rooms were a nice size and included a hot pot for tea if you liked. The bathroom was also very nice with a tub and shower combo. The cafe next to the hotel has wonderful food. We were able to get tour bus tickets and concert tickets at the hotel desk. The front desk, very often, had one of the owners or family members helping out in some way. I would be happy to stay there again.

The location of this hotel is not bad. 15~20min walking distance to centrum maybe a little far away. But it is still quite convienient to use mass transportation system. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to both the main train station and the downtown area. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful, purchasing concert tickets for us, providing excellent restaurant recommendations (places where they themselves like to eat) and going above and beyond to find us the necessary train schedule. The breakfast room was beautiful and the complimentary buffet was great, including unique juices, cakes and toast spreads in addition to the traditional Austrian breakfast fare. The water pressure in the showers was FANTASTIC and they were one of the few hotels that provided soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The view from our room of the hill behind the hotel decked out in fall foliage was gorgeous and the walk to the water took us through a charming pedestrian zone lined with quant shops and cafes. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!!

We stayed here for a few days on route to the Octoberfest. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. The location was an easy 5 minute walk from the centre. We booked a triple room but the third bed was a rather old half couch "contraction" placed at the very foot of the other bed. Not what you would expect for a triple. Our next visit a few day's later was a beter room with 3 actual beds, seems to be a luck of the draw kind of thing. I won't be back as I know there is a lot more choice. I can't wait to go back to Salzburg it's gorgous....enjoy!

Here are the pros and cons of the Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find if you are arriving by car as we did. It is located on the perimeter of the city and approx. a 7 to 10 minute walk from the pedestrian area of Salzburg, and a 15 to 20 minute walk from the center of the old town. As advertised, it offers free parking, but the parking lot is an unpaved, interior lot located across the hotel with no lights. Both front desk ladies who checked us in and out were very nice and friendly. The room was small with old furniture. The bathroom was remodeled and very clean, but the bath towels were worn-out. There was no shampoo in the bathroom and had to ask for bars of soap. Since it was the beginning of September, the weather was hot and we had to open both windows since there is no air-conditioning. Our room had windows in the front and rear, but the front window, when open, produced some traffic noise from the street. The cold breakfast was adequate and the breakfast room is cute and has a nice alpine character. The price given to us was the price quoted. The bottom line is this: if you are single, young, non demanding, or a young family and looking for a budget hotel, Drei Kreuz is a good choice. If you are on your honeymoon or traveling with your demanding friend, stay elsewhere. Personally, I would stay there again, but upon checking in, I will ask for a rear room, and request that they inspect the room for shampoo, soap and new towels. Good luck!

The staff is not available throughout the night. Had I not emailed in advance to notify the hotel about our late arrival, I don't think we would have been able to get into our room. Otherwise, our stay was a happy one. The staff is professional, but the hotel has the homey feel of a family run establishment. While a couple of blocks outside of the action, everything is Salzburg is walkable.

Nice & a very welcoming hotel and great value for money. The room was spaciuos and with all basic amenities. The hotel was not as close to the city centre as I had imagined after reading the profile but still very well connected by buses as the bus stop was very close by. We could also walk to the city centre in 15-20 minutes as Salzburg is quite a compact town. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and I think its a family managed place. We were very warmly welcomed and given maps, brochures etc on arrival by them and also a great orientation of the city while checking in. We had a great time in Salzburg and at the hotel.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our time there and would stay there again. The breakfast was excellent and most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and spoke English. One of the staff was quite pushy, trying to sell us tickets for attractions etc. and was a bit grudging when we needed extra pillows. The family room was a little cramped with only one chair for four of us to sit on, and it could have been a bit cleaner, but it was adequate for our needs. All the promised services were available and we were very pleased to find a kettle in our room.

This is not a luxury hotel by any means. However, the room was clean and certainly adequate for our 3 day stay in Salzburg. The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful. The hotel location is very convenient - its a 10 - 15 minute walk to Altstadt (Old City). Its very easy to reach the hotel from the airport - just hop on the #2 bus (costs only 1.80 euros per person!). Breakfast was included and was fine - cereals, cold cuts/cheeses, yogurt and fruit. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Drei Kreuz and would be happy to stay here again.

Struttura molto carina, in una posizione comodissima per il centro (10 minuti al massimo). Le camere sono molto spaziose e ben pulite. The Hotel Drei Kreuz is an outstanding hotel. The staff made us feel welcome the moment we entered the hotel lobby. They gave us a one bedroom apartment instead of a room which made our stay even better. The hotel is situated about ten minutes from the town center which was perfect. When I searched accomodation for 5 nights in Salzburg, I looked for the city centre because everytime I go on vacation I prefer to pay a little more and stay in the centre than waste my precious time and money on buses or trains. And so I found this hotel. When I arrived at Salzburg I was a little surprised because I did not expect such a small town. In fact, the hotel was not in the centre but it didn't matter because you could reach the centre in just a 15 minutes walk. By the way, I definitely recommend every tourist to buy the 'Salzburg Card' which allows free entrance to the main attractions and free transportation (a card valid for 72 hours costs 32 Euros). The bus/trolley system is very good, with an excellent service frequency, and there is a bus stop very close to the hotel. I stood in the 3rd floor, in a room faced to the back of the building. The room was large enough, the bed was also good. The furniture was a little old and inestethic but I was not expecting for the Sheraton! I never heard any noise coming from the other rooms or the corridors. Particulary in the morning, it is usual at other hotels to hear doors slamming and people talking loud as they descend to breakfast but this is was not the case at Drei Kreuz. I found this amazing because the hotel was full! Breakfast (7 to 10 a.m.) was OK, consisting on a typical continental breakfast. The staff was very kind and helpful. The only problem was at the arrival. I arrived around 23:00 and the reception closes at 21:00 (if you want to get out at night you need to take the key with you). A few days earlier, I sent an e-mail informing my arrival time and was told that my room key would be deposited in a post box outside the door that that I could easily open. When I arrived the key was not there but there was a written message for me hanging on the door asking to ring the bell. So, I rang the bell. Unfortunately, the man who answered did not speak english so it was very hard to understand h

Drei Kreuz es un hotel con buena relación calidad/precio. Se puede ir caminando hasta el centro de Salzburgo en 15 minutos. Mi familia y yo elegimos una habitación para 4 personas que no estaba mal, aunque la TV no funcionaba. This hotel is supposed to be located at c. 10mn by foot from the city center, and is claimed as such by the reception of the hotel. Nevertheless, 10mn is an understatement, particularly with children. We never had courage to walk to the cuty center. It should take minimum 15mn even for adults.

If I did not mark excellent for the price/quality ratio it is only because the room was with shower and not bath, usually at a smaller price. Otherwise everything was perfect. I also indicated on the form filled in in the hotel that it would be good to have a little fridge in the room. We really enjoyed our stay.

I have never felt as welcome at any European hotel!! They were very nice and accomodated a few special needs with ease. Even provided a roll out bed for our 2 year old free of charge. Room was very large for European standards and recently renovated. The only downside was the traffic noise which isn't a problem if you keep the windows closed. I HIGHLY recoomend this hotel and was VERY pleased with our stay here. Breakfast buffet was ggod with excellent service. We were greeted with brochures and information. They answered any questions or problems we had!! This is a great hotel for the price. 10 minutes walk from walkplatz or there is a bus 1 minute down the street. We had a great stay!!

This hotel is not really within walking distance as stated - it is within a 10 minute bus ride from train station. The rooms were OK but the surrounding area within the hotel are somewhat worn. English competence with staff was not that strong although they were nice.

A reasonable hotel well within walking distance of the old town. Not much of interest around the hotel itself but based on price, value and distance to center this place rates well. The bathrooms are sparkling White and modern. I chose the hotel because of other reviews and was not disappointed. For a weekend break this place is fine, as you will not spend any time there. Breakfast is the usual mix of bread, cold meet, hard-boiled eggs and fruit. The city is great but it is difficult to find parking. The hotel has a grass lot where you may park. No Complaints overall. But be warned that this is a drab hotel not quite for the romantic weekend.

The location of the hotel was excellent. It was just a short walk to the center of town. The receptionist was a great help in scheduling a sight-seeing trip for us and giving us information about Salzburg. We sincerely wished that we had time to stay longer. Breakfast was great and everyone we encountered who were members of the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful.

Drei Kreuz was a very nice hotel. The employees were very nice and helpful. The location was perfect, just a 10 minute walk from the central station. The breakfast was delicious and offered an array of fruits, breads, coffee and juice. I would definitely stay here again next time I find myself in Austria.

un hotel a 10 minutos andando del centro. La habitación muy amplia. Recomendable.

A really good hotel for the price. Easy walk to centre of Salzburg. One drawback: in hot weather the room would be too hot, and opening the window made the room very noisy. We were lucky to be there in cool weather. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly, good breakfast.

The hotel was located in an industrial area - it took about 20-30 minute walk to the old town. (You may also take a bus.) We thought it was closer! It was located on a busy street and there were a lot of traffic zooming in and out in front of the hotel. Since we opened the windows to get cool air, we heard the traffic all night long. Breakfast was great, however, and the staff was friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Drei Kreuz. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly at all times. It is located in a quiet area of the city with a 20 minute walk to the center.

The hotel was easy to find----our daughters were in the old part and we were in the new part. Our room did not have adequate curtains to block out the sun---so we unintentionally were up at 5:30-while the girl's room felt very dark. The breakfast had variety and the location was an easy walk to the quaint areas of Salzburg. The map to get there off the autobahn was very good.

The room was like an apartment. We even had a back door to a small patio like area. The staff was helpful and friendly. They had parking for our auto and saved us 50% or more on what we would have paid to visit the city with a Salzburg Pass. It even covered all bus transportation. Never had to drive our car once.

The hotel is really nice. The room was quiet, clean and with more than the essential comfort. Their breakfasts are very good. And the hotel is really close from the city centre, so we did't need to use the bus or our car, which remained parked in the hotel's parking. We really had a wonderful staying in Salzburg and the hotel had it's part in this.
