The Altstadt Vienna is a small, private 4-star hotel with 42 non-smoking rooms and suites in a renovated historical building in the Spittelberg quarter, only a few steps from the major museums and the Ringstrasse.

The English-style Red Salon serves a superb breakfast buffet and a bar where our guests can relax on comfortable sofas next to the open fireplace. In the afternoon we serve complimentary tea and cake for our guests. All rooms and suites are individually decorated, presenting an excellent blend of modern conveniences and traditional Viennese style. Individual attention and first-class service is of the utmost importance to us.

The Mariahilfer Strasse, Vienna’s most popular shopping street, is only 5 minutes away. Spittelberg is a popular, trendy district with many restaurants, shops and cultural activities.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Enjoy our wonderful breakfast buffet in the red salon, where we also offer complimentary tea and cake in front of the open fireplace. At night you can relax and enjoy a drink at our bar. A variety of wonderful restaurants can be found literally around the corner in the Spittelberg quarter.

Room information

Choose your individually designed room or suite. In autumn 2006 another 9 rooms, designed by Italian star architect Matteo Thun, were opened and contribute to the elegant but cosy atmosphere of our hotel.

Area information

The hotel is situated in a surprisingly quiet area, only a 5-minute walk from the next underground station. You can reach the world-famous Ringstrasse and the Museum Quarter in only 5 to 10 minutes.

Vienna's largest shopping street - the Mariahilfer Strasse - and a variety of restaurants are also within walking distance of the hotel.

The staff were terrific, and very accommodating.

It is far away from the subway station. The room we got looked nothing like the room advertised on the Internet, but it was comfortable and clean.

Hotel staff extrememly helpful and friendly. On our check in Elizabeth showed us all the facilites and made us feel at home.Afternoon tea and cake was served in dining room every day, lovely to come home to. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Otto's wonderful and beautiful hotel.

Attentive staff, decreet service, wonderful breakfast selection.

Hard noisy floor in the bedroom. Prefer carpet. Bath small, shower position wrong with relation to shower screen.

design and position, close to the underground. Very nice breakfast and good dining room for spend time (includind the teaand cake in the afternoon, including in the rate)

the suite was separeted to another suit just with a closed door, so I was able to hear all the noises coming form the next suite. Room to hot and air to dry (we had some problem with our throat. The room of the toilette was cold and the WC had a very strange and unconfortable shape.
