30 mins. bus ride from central station, and require extra fare. bus comes regularly, even late in the night. for a tourist, the 30 mins. ride is nothing, since you get to see the neighbourhood and surrounding area. make sure you bring your own alarm clock. Hotel is situated in a golf course.

This is really a inspiring hotel with beautiful surroundings. It gives me surpise while i open my window at the first floor, it's facing a whole big grass field and you can walk out of your room and enjoy the smell of the green grass. You will find small rivers, wooden bridges and nice houses with flowers in few minutes walk.I wish i could come back here every year for vacation.Waterland is much more beautiful than Amsterdam city center.

Excellent price for value. Out of the way from Amsterdam, but no problem for a Nav. system. A car is needed or at least very desireable. FREE parking, a rare commodity. If you have a budget and a car with nav system this is an excellent place to stay near Amsterdam.

It was our first time at this hotel but we will come back. The rooms are very big and quiet, the surroundings are very beautiful. The view from the restaurant over the golf court is excellent. The breakfast is somewhat overpriced because the buffet doesn't offer anything special. Because it was off-season, the restaurant only offered a menu with a choice of three dishes which was quite expensive, too. We had a car, so it was no problem to reach Amsterdam which is about 30 minutes drive. Overall a very good choice if you want to visit Amsterdam and stay in a quiet place. For this price you won't find anything better.

We had a great stay here even though we werent there to golf. The staff was very friendly. Our room was big and bright. There was a spot on the wall that looked like it had been there for awhile but was never scrubbed off. The beds were extremely comfortable. It's a bit far from the city. You will have to pay for the bus. Be sure to get the day pass which is good for 24 hrs and is 6 euro. If you come back before midnight then you wont need another ticket. After midnight it's another 1.50 for the night bus. In the morning/afternoon you can ride the bus again w/o paying as long as it is before the 24 hr. mark. Once you get to Central Station be sure to get a tram ticket that has 15 rides. You can purchase those in the book store and I believe it's only another 6 euro. The tram will save you time, frustration, and from walking too much. Even with the tix we still walked a ton! A night out: One night, my sister and I came in at 4 am and were locked out. We stood outside in the freezing cold/wind for 15 min. The man on duty finally came and let us in saying that he couldnt hear the bell. Well, I imagine you can't if you're alseep on the job. Anyway, other than that we had a great time and I'll come back with my husband and 11 y/o daughter, the golfers.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It is fairly far from Amsterdam itself (30 minute bus ride from the Centraal Station). However, for that price, there is no way that you could get such a comfortable, clean, and quiet room anywhere in the center of Amsterdam. Thus, it is perfect for people who want to enjoy Amsterdam during the day and evening, but then have a quiet place to stay for the night. The hotel would definitely be a lot easier to get to if you had a car though. They also have free wireless internet in the lobby.

Although modern - a very nice hotel with huge rooms, nice staff and although in the middle of nowhere - all the better for it -all at a very good price that the Dutch seem to be able to do. Same quality in UK -at least twice as expensive. Breakfast too expensive though.

Got a Smoking room allocated to me, I'm a Non-Smoker. Realised it was a smoking room after walking 400m to get to the room. Staff should ask what kind of room is required before allocating one or at least indicate to the customer that a smoking room is being allocated to them. Apart from this the hotel pretty much exceeded my expectations and I would definitely come back.

The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The public areas were also clean and tidy and simply furnished. The bar area was reasonably busy and friendly, and the food and drink were good value. As I travelled by car, transport was not an issue, but others should be aware that the hotel is off the beaten track, being in a more residential/rural area. The hotel would be ideal for golfers as the hotel sits on a large golf complex with around 45 holes, divided up into 9-hole sections. Make sure you bring plenty of golf balls with you as there is a scarry number of water hazards around the courses. I am looking to returning in better weather with my clubs and will certainly consider the hotel in the future.

Mostly locals playing golf - nice facility but very isolated. Horseshoe layout means your room can be a long walk from the lobby. Internet access avail in lobby only. Rooms are chilly, there are extra comforters, also a fridge. 15 min. bus ride to the nearest grocery, shops, restaurants. Staff are very friendly but too relaxed. Twice I got a left-handed 5-iron at the rental shop, and our billing at checkout had to be resettled. Otherwise, really good value for $$. If going to Amsterdam w/someone, buy the family bus ticket for 10EUR. Restaurant food & beer on tap was good.

a beautifull hotel. All is excellent ,just a very serious problem :The signalisation of this hotel; No problem when we arrived from Amsterdam because the indications written with the reservation were excellent but when we arrived from Volendam it was impossible to find the hotel again espacially in the night ; fortunatly a very nice couple proposed us to follow it by car to go back to the hotel because I think we would have slept in the car!!!

A very good hotel, quite far from amsterdam, you'll need a car to get there. It's perfect to see the surroundins cities of amsterdam like Marken, Volendam, Edam etc.. The room was spacious with tv toilet with bath chairs table a nice view over the golf, the price was excellent. You will not find anything near the hotel, walking it's all quite far, I recommend to go with a car. Enjoy your stay to everyone

Hotel was a fair distance from Amsterdam. Hotel personnel were quite helpful in providing bus ticket and directions to get bus into Amsterdam main train station. No problem in getting to and from city other than time, but not too bad. Hotel is actually a golf resort and check-in in in the golf clubhouse! Plently of free parking. The way the hotel is laid out, you could have quite a walk to your room. Breakfast is not included and restaurants are somewhat pricey. Would stay here again.

Big rooms - hotel quiet on a big golf court. Excellent to relax. To critisise is the handling of mistakes. Instead of a double room we were first checked in on a twin bed room. The staff was not very friendly confronted with that mistake and tried to blame us by telling us that a double room has never been confirmed. Luckily we hat the printout of the confirmation we got from venere that set everything in order. But except of that everything was perfect.

This was good value for a two night stay near Amsterdam. The bus leaves you about 5 minutes walk from the hotel which is located in a pleasant suburb - lots of trees and greenery. The room was very spacious. The hotel is like a golf club with rooms, so nice views over the golf course from the dining areas. Reasonably priced meals and snacks available till 10pm at the hotel, which is good as there are no other restaurants nearby. If you like being in the centre of town, this hotel is not for you. But if you are prepared to take a 25 minute bus journey, you get good value compared with city hotels. To find the bus, when you come out of Central Station, go to the left for about 200 metres. From the hotel we got the bus for a 10 minute journey to Edam (where the cheese comes from) which is a very picturesque small town, ideal for an afternoon wandering around.

Good week-end at Amsterdam, good information by service in the hôtel. Room are very spacious, and very confortable but bathroom is not as the biggest. We are a young couple and we went to Amsterdam to visit and enjoy so we booked this one but reservation was so boring ! Daddy with Mummy go here to practice golf even if it rains but it's all. So I think we'll return but not before 20 years.

We were in the Hotel during year end vacations. We stay in a magnificent way; really luxury accomodation at unbeliaveble price.(expecially compared with Amsterdam downtown hotels). We travelled by car (you have to use car to reach the hotel), then we left the car in the wide and free parking and started using a very efficient system of bus (300 meters walking)that every 15' carry you to Amsterdam central station in 25'. The only trouble we had was that the hotel didn't organize anything for the year end night (!), except a party buffet from 6 until 8 p.m. That night the Amsterdam public trasportation is out of service (!) and we had to take a car to reach Amsterdam, finding a parking (my suggestion is strictly for payment parking), and finding a restaurant (remember to reserve!). My last note is for the breakfast: you have no chance to take breakfast not in the hotel, but the experience is great: beautiful room, tasty food and a wide landscape on the golf greens. We tried also the restaurant inside the hotel staying really satisfied. In few words: go to Purmerend and visit Amsterdam staying luxury and paying a little!

Very relaxing, pleasent and enjoyable stay. Place is in the greens of a golf course, and this gives it a touch of peacefulness. It's nowhere near Amsterdam centre but it's a fantastic ride on a bike there in only 40 minutes, and if you're looking for a place to reach all the nearby towns then you're going to the best you can find. It's 20 mins by train, but you want to cycle there! it's a must for anyone.

We stayed in this hotel in December 2006 when visiting Amsterdam. Though the hotel in sutuated in the surburban area, Amsterdam is easily reached in half an hour by frequently running busses, the stop is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is wonderful. In December it was quiet and very cheap, cheaper than anything we could find downtown. I would definitely recommend it to travellers who want to visit Amsterdam and at the same time have a nice place to stay and rest. Also to those who come to Amsterdam by car and do not want to face problems with parking in the city, which is quite expensive
